Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! We pray that 2007 is a year of great joy and blessing for you and your family.

Don't forget that next Saturday, January 6, is a big day at FRC Lima! We will be welcoming Pastor Troy Gramling and his family to FRC Lima. Pastor Troy had a vision for an international campus of Flamingo Road Church in Lima, and now it is a reality! Be sure to come and hear and meet Pastor Troy next Saturday night, January 6, at 7:00 PM at FRC Lima at Hotel Las Palmeras in San Isidro. It's going to be an awesome time, so you don't want to miss it, and be sure to invite all of your friends and family to come, too!

Finally, in the spirit of the New Year, we want to give you a personal blessing, using the same blessing which was given to the Israelites in Numbers 6:24-26, "The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace."

Happy 2007 to you!

Special New Year's Celebration!

We hope you had an awesome Christmas! Don't forget that this Saturday night, December 30, at 7:00 P.M. at Hotel Las Palmeras in San Isidro, we'll be having the FRC Lima special New Year's Celebration! It's going to be a blast, with special New Year's music, video, more of the special Andre Rieu holiday concert, special New Year's decorations and lights, more hot chocolate by the pool, and other special surprises! There also will be a special message for you about how our God is a God of second chances, and how 2007 can be the year of second chances for all of us.

Be sure to come, and be sure to invite all of your friends and family to come, as well.

And don't forget that in 2 weeks, on January 6, 2007, Pastor Troy Gramling of Flamingo Road Church in Fort Lauderdale will be here - live! - with his family. You don't want to miss this special evening!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, everyone! We had two awesome Christmas celebrations at FRC Lima over the past two Saturday nights, with well over 200 people in total attendance. Everyone enjoyed the special Christmas music, the Christmas carols, the Andre Rieu concert, and of course the hot chocolate by the pool!

As we begin to celebrate Christmas this evening, let's remember the words of the angel in Luke 2:10-11, when he appeared to the shepherds who were guarding their flocks of sheep in the fields outside Bethlehem. The angel told the shepherds, "I bring you good news of great joy for everyone! The Savior - yes, the Messiah, the Lord - has been born tonight in Bethlehem, the city of David!"

That was good news for the shepherds, and it's good news for us. Our Savior was born on that starry night in Bethlehem, and that's reason for us to celebrate! So let's make this Christmas season a time of celebration, as we rejoice in the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Merry Christmas, everyone! May your Christmas be a time of great peace, joy, and blessing.

Christian Is Back!

Some of you remember Dorcas' brother, Christian, from when we were on the first floor of Hotel Las Palmeras back in July and August. But many of you have never met him. He has been away, studying at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, USA, for the past 4 months, but now he's back with us here in Lima for Christmas break. He'll be with us this Saturday night, December 23, at FRC Lima at Hotel Las Palmeras for Part 2 of our special Christmas Celebration, so make sure you say hello and introduce yourself to him!

Sunday Afternoon in La Victoria

A group of 18 of us from FRC Lima went to the girls' orphanage in La Victoria on Sunday afternoon, and we had a great time!

We visited with about 25-30 girls, gave all of them a bunch of Christmas presents, talked with them, played with them, hung out with them, and did our best to show the love of Jesus to them. There was also a group of 12 orphan boys there, and thankfully we had enough Christmas gifts for all of them, too.

To the group that went to La Victoria today: you all did an awesome job! God will bless you for your generous hearts and kind spirits. You all were a great blessing to the girls and boys of La Victoria today!

La Victoria Update

We had a great time last Sunday afternoon in Pachacutec, and this Sunday afternoon, December 17, we will be visiting a girls' orphanage in La Victoria to deliver Christmas gifts.

For all of you who are going on the mission trip to the orphanage in La Victoria, please remember that we will meet in the parking lot at Hotel Las Palmeras in San Isidro at 1:00 PM. Please be punctual! The group that went to Pachacutec was awesome - they were all there in the parking lot at 1:00 or earlier - and so we also need all of you who are going to La Victoria to please be on time - or early! - as well, as we need to leave right away at 1:00 PM. Thanks in advance for your punctuality!

Also, please remember to bring clothing, shoes, sneakers, toys, books, school items, candy, and anything else that you have that would make for great Christmas gifts for the girls at the orphanage. The girls there are between the ages of 2-22. There are about 30-40 girls there.

The group in Pachacutec had a great time last Sunday afternoon, and I know that we'll also have a great time this Sunday afternoon in La Victoria with all of our friends at the orphanage. You will be a great blessing to all of the girls there, and they will be a great blessing to you!

Christmas in Pachacutec

This afternoon a group of about 20 of us from FRC Lima went to Pachacutec to hand out Christmas gifts to the poor and needy children there. What an amazing time we had!

We handed out over 200 gifts in all. The kids were so happy to receive their presents, and I know that for many of the children in Pachacutec, it will be the only Christmas gift that they will receive this year.

I want to say "Thank you very much!" to every person who came with us to Pachacutec today. All of you did an awesome job, handing out the gifts, playing with the kids, and showing the love of Jesus to everyone in Pachacutec. Great job, guys!

Next Sunday, it's on to the girls' orphanage in La Victoria!

This is a reminder to everyone who is going on the mission trip to Pachacutec this Sunday, December 10: please meet in the parking lot at Hotel Las Palmeras in San Isidro at 1:00 PM on Sunday afternoon. Please be punctual! We need to leave the hotel on time, and if you arrive late, we may have to leave without you. So please be on time!

Please remember that there is a symbolic cost of 5 soles for the mission trip to Pachacutec. Please wear casual clothing. Sometimes it is dusty and sandy in Pachacutec, so please wear casual, comfortable clothing. No shorts or sandals. Please cover your legs and feet.

Also please remember to bring extra clothes, shoes, sneakers, toys, candy, and anything else that you'd like to bring to Pachacutec as Christmas gifts to distribute to the children and families there. All gifts must be in good condition.

It's going to be a great mission trip, and we're excited about the group of 15 who are going to be part of it!

Christmas Invitations

Some of you have asked us for more Christmas invitations to distribute for the two FRC Lima Christmas Celebrations on Saturday night, December 16, and Saturday night, December 23, at 7:00 PM each night at Hotel Las Palmeras in San Isidro.

This Saturday night we will have lots more Christmas invitations for you to distribute to your family and friends. Hand out lots of them! Let's have Christmas Celebrations that are even bigger than the Thanksgiving Celebration that we had!

Also, we want to say "Congratulations!" to Pastor Sammy and Pastor Bob at FRC Hallandale Beach in Florida. Last Sunday was their first service, and they had 288 people there! That's awesome, and here at FRC Lima we rejoice with our brothers and sisters at Hallandale Beach!

Gifts for Pachacutec

Thanks to everyone who signed up for the mission trip to Pachacutec on Sunday, December 10. Remember that on December 10 we will be leaving the parking lot of Hotel Las Palmeras at 1:00 P.M. to go to Pachacutec. Right now we have 14 people signed up to go to Pachacutec. That means that we have space for 1 more person! If you would like to be that person, then call us or e-mail us as soon as possible to reserve your space.

In Pachacutec we will be distributing Christmas gifts to poor children and families there. We will bring a lot of Christmas gifts prepared by the children of Flamingo Road Church in Cooper City, Florida, but we also want to encourage you to bring your own gifts to distribute - clothing, shoes, sneakers, toys, candy, or any other types of Christmas gifts. Be generous!

It's going to be a time of great blessing - for us! - in Pachacutec!

On Sunday, December 10, at 1:00 PM, we will go to Pachacutec, and we will distribute Christmas presents to the poor children and families there. It will be a time of great blessing as we bless those who are extremely impoverished in Pachacutec. You also may bring additional clothing or gifts to distribute, if you would like. We will leave from the parking lot of Hotel Las Palmeras at 1:00 PM on Sunday, December 10.

On Sunday, December 17, at 1:00 PM, we will go to La Victoria, and we will distribute Christmas presents to the girls who live at an orphanage in La Victoria. It will be a time of great blessing as we hang out and give gifts to these girls. There are approximately 25-30 girls who live at the orphanage, with ages ranging from 2-22. You may also bring additional girls' clothing or gifts to distribute, if you would like. There is a symbolic cost of 5 soles to go on the trip, in order to help pay for the cost of the transportation to La Victoria. There is a limit of 15 people for the trip. We will have more information on these 2 mission trips on Saturday night at 7:00 PM at FRC Lima at Hotel Las Palmeras in San Isidro. We hope you can join us on one of these trips. We guarantee it will change your life, and you will learn more about the true meaning of Christmas as you help out people who are less fortunate than you.
