You Matter!

Join us this Sunday morning at the cinema in both services for an off-the-chain teaching called YOU MATTER!

You are a child of the King. You are in covenant with God. YOU MATTER!

Frequently the enemy tries to get you to forget this, but God always wants you to know that you are His beloved child, and YOU MATTER!

Join us on Sunday morning for this very impactful teaching, and be sure to invite your family and friends, because YOU MATTER!

Iquitos Small Groups And Beyond!

We just returned from a great time in Iquitos. While we were there, we met with a young man named Jose who will be helping us to launch small groups in Iquitos, in both English and Spanish. Please pray for Jose as he joins us in partnering with the people of Iquitos in order to help them reach their God-potential, and also please pray for others in Iquitos who may be helping us there very soon. We also visited the cinema in Iquitos and a large hotel function room, as we're already praying and planning ahead for the day, God willing, when we will launch a full FRC campus in Iquitos! Please join us in praying over this. Our God is a big God, and I know that He has big plans for FRC in Iquitos!

Iquitos

Please pray for us as we go to Iquitos on Sunday afternoon after the services at FRC-Lima. We are going to Iquitos to help launch some brand-new small groups in the city, in both English and Spanish, with the vision and prayer of starting a new FRC campus in Iquitos in the future. Please pray that God covers us with His hand of blessing, favor, and protection in Iquitos. It's very exciting to think about partnering with people and helping them reach their God-potential in the jungle!

Pray For Pastor Troy's Mom

Please pray for Pastor Troy's mom, Linda. She is in a hospital in North Carolina in the intensive care ward, suffering from an aneurism. The doctors will need to operate on her, but first they are trying to determine why she is bleeding on her brain. It is a very delicate situation. Please pray for her healing, and please pray that Pastor Troy and his family will experience a peace, in the midst of this storm, that can only come from God.

Repentance Matters

Join us this Sunday at FRC-Lima as we feature Part 2 of our exciting new series called "It Matters." This Sunday morning in both services at the cinema we will learn why "Repentance Matters." Many times we guard a secret sin, and keep it hidden just like sweeping dirt under a rug, and we become consumed by guilt or fear or doubt because of it. This is not what God wants us to do. This is not how God wants us to live. God has a better plan for your life, one free of guilt, fear, doubt, and secrecy. Come this Sunday and learn more about why "Repentance Matters." Invite your family and friends!

Barranco

Dorcas and I recently hung out in Barranco, a cool, funky, bohemian, artistic enclave in Lima, full of music clubs, cafes, markets, and galleries. Creativity and uniqueness is on every corner. I see a lot of God-potential there, so please join us in praying about how FRC-Lima can best make its presence felt in Barranco.

International Economic Summit In Lima

There is an international economic summit in Lima this week, featuring presidents and leaders from several countries in Latin America, the Caribbean, and the European Union. Among the leaders attending the summit in Lima this week are Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, President of Argentina; Alvaro Uribe, President of Colombia; Evo Morales, President of Bolivia; Hugo Chavez, President of Venezuela; Rafael Correa, President of Ecuador; Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany; and Carlos Lage Davila, Vice President of Cuba. Many of the conferences are taking place at the Country Club Hotel, located just a few blocks away from our apartment.

The city is at a standstill because of the summit. Schools and government offices are closed, as are many stores and businesses. Street are also closed for blocks all around the various summit meeting places. Security forces, the national police, and the military are on every street corner.

We need to pray for all of these leaders, whether we agree with their politics or not. God has allowed them to be in the high positions that they are in.

Romans 13:1 - NIV - "Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God."

Please pray that all of these authorities, as established by God, seek His wisdom and guidance and discernment in all of their decisions, both during the summit and afterward.

Family Dedication This Sunday!

We're going to celebrate Mother's Day this Sunday at FRC-Lima with a great big Family Dedication!

The Family Dedication is your opportunity to dedicate your children to God. Luke 2:22, 40 (NIV) tells us how Jesus, too, was dedicated by his parents: "Joseph and Mary took (Jesus) to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord ... And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him."

On Sunday you will have the same opportunity to dedicate your children! Don't miss out on this priceless opportunity to have us pray over your children, and dedicate them to God, just as Jesus' parents did with him at the temple in Jerusalem.

For more information and to register your children for Sunday's dedication, just e-mail me at steve.guschov@flamingoroad.org, or call the FRC-Lima office at 441-1837.
