Ceremony With The President

Today we attended a ceremony with the President of Peru, Alan Garcia.

For the past three years, the evangelical church community in Peru has hosted a Ceremony of Thanksgiving in honor of Peru Independence Days at the end of July, and each year President Garcia has attended. Garcia is the first Peruvian President to have truly reached out to the evangelical church community here, and he maintains good relations with the evangelical community in Peru. Dorcas and I have been blessed to attend each of the past three ceremonies with President Garcia.

Being at the ceremony with President Garcia reminded me that we must always be praying for our leaders, whether we agree with their politics or not. Those of you in the USA need to be praying - now - for the next President, whomever it may be. God already knows who will win in November. Be praying that the winner seeks God's wisdom and discernment in all the decisions that he must make as President.

Felices Fiestas Patrias!

We had an awesome time this morning at FRC-Lima as we celebrated Fiestas Patrias with incredible marinera dancers and fantastic Peruvian music!

We also want to take this opportunity to pray for God's hand of blessing and favor on Peru as the nation celebrates its Independence Days.

FRC Students Rock!

We're having a great time these days with the 16 FRC high school students who are visiting us here in Lima along with Pastor Garland, Pastor Bob, and Holly. On Friday the students had an outreach at a local English language insitute, then on Saturday they spent the day with our friends at the orphanage in La Victoria, then spent Saturday night at the jazz club where we have The Rd., and then on Sunday morning they helped us out at FRC-Lima as ushers, greeters, singers, musicians, and with the set-up and tear-down. The high school group is doing a great job here in Lima. FRC students rock!

Strength!

Philippians 4:13 (NLT2) says, "For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength."

Amen to that!

Strength doesn't come from Red Bull or steroids or human growth hormones or even the famous coca tea here in Lima, it comes from Christ!

This Sunday morning in both services at FRC-Lima, we are finishing our series called "RationaLIES: The Battle for Truth." Many times the enemy tries to get us to delay or to never reach our God-potential by telling us, "There's always tomorrow." However, God tells us that we need to "See today & seize today!"
