Cheating

Change is a part of life, and so this Sunday morning at 10:00 AM at Flamingo Road Church at Cineplanet Alcazar in Ovalo Gutierrez, we will be changing the video teaching topic from prejudice to cheating.

Cheating is a way of life for many people. People cheat on their spouses, on their taxes, on exams, at work, and in a thousand other ways. We even cheat God when we don't spend enough time in prayer, worship, and studying His word.

On Sunday morning we will discuss what to do when we've screwed up by cheating, and how to have restoration afterward. It is a fantastic lesson, so be sure to come, and invite your friends!

Prejudice

This Sunday at 10:00 AM at Flamingo Road Church at Cineplanet Alcazar, we will be featuring a great video teaching about prejudice. Have you ever screwed up in the area of prejudice? Have you ever prejudged a person or a gender or a race or a certain ethnic group? Everyone has done so at some point in life. We all have had had moments when we have acted in a prejudiced manner, or have been racist or discriminatory. Perhaps you have been a victim of prejudice, too.

This Sunday's teaching will address this issue of prejudice, and what to do when we have screwed up in this area. Be sure to come, and invite your friends!

Jerry Falwell, 1933-2007

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Rev. Jerry Falwell, who died today at the age of 73. Rev. Falwell was the pastor of Thomas Road Baptist Church and the founder of Liberty University, both in Lynchburg, Virginia. He was a man of great influence in the evangelical community.

Our thoughts and prayers are also with Christian Rosas, Dorcas' brother, who is a student at Liberty University. We pray that God grants peace and tranquility to Christian - and to the Falwell family - during this sad time.

Check out the list of new small groups which are starting this week, and where and when they meet, and then go! Also be sure to bring a friend. Children Dedicated To God

It was so exciting to see all of the children who were brought forward and dedicated to God today in Lima! Just as Hannah dedicated Samuel, and just as Joseph and Mary dedicated Jesus, today we saw fathers, mothers, grandmothers, and aunts dedicating children to God. It was an awesome time, and a wonderful sight to behold.

We pray that each child who was dedicated today will be filled with God's love, wisdom, grace, and mercy, and will grow up to be Christ-like every day, and in every way.

Free Basketballs!

We're going to be giving away some free, brand-new basketballs this weekend at Flamingo Road Church in Lima!

Why are we giving away free, brand-new basketballs? Well, you'll just have to come and find out! But here's a hint: it is related to Pastor Troy's video teaching about what to do when you've screwed up in the area of purity in your life.

So come to Cineplanet Alcazar in Ovalo Gutierrez on Sunday morning at 10:00 AM for some great music and teaching, and you just might walk away with a brand-new basketball!

Communion

This Sunday at Flamingo Road Church in Lima, as part of our special Mother's Day celebration, we will be serving Communion. When we partake of the Communion elements, we remember the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for us on the cross. He gave His body, and shed His blood, for us. We partake of the Communion elements in remembrance of Him, and in remembrance of His great sacrifice for us. Be sure to come on Sunday and, if you are a Christ follower, partake in Communion.

Screwing Up Purity

This weekend at Flamingo Road Church in Lima, Pastor Troy will be teaching about what to do when we've screwed up in the area of purity. This is a big problem for a lot of people. Just go to www.ivescrewedup.com, and read the hundreds of stories there. Perhaps purity has been a problem area for you, too.

Be sure to come this weekend to watch this very important teaching about what to do when we've screwed up in the area of purity. It will change your life. Bring your friends, too!

Also remember that this Sunday is Mother's Day, and we will be having special "bocaditos" for everyone in honor of the special day, and we also will be having a Family Dedication, where you can dedicate your children to God, just as Hannah did with Samuel, and just as Joseph and Mary did with Jesus. Remember to register your children for the dedication, either by calling 441-1837, or by e-mailing me at steve.guschov@flamingoroad.org.

Family Dedications This Sunday

This Sunday at Flamingo Road Church in Lima, we will be celebrating Mother's Day with family dedications.

A family dedication is a wonderful experience, when a family comes forward and dedicates their children to God. Samuel was dedicated to God by his mother, Hannah, and Jesus was dedicated to God by Joseph and Mary. On Sunday, after Pastor Troy's video teaching, we will dedicate your children to God, so that just like Jesus, they will be filled with wisdom and God's grace.

We already have some children signed up to be dedicated. If you would like to have your child or children be dedicated to God this Sunday, then please register by calling us at 441-1837, or send me an e-mail at: steve.guschov@flamingoroad.org.

It's going to be a very special time, so be sure to register your children for the dedication ceremony!

Purity

This Sunday morning at 10:00 AM at Flamingo Road Church in Lima, Pastor Troy will be teaching about purity. Purity is a difficult topic for many of us because ... well ... we aren't pure. Many of us feel more impure than pure. Just read the many anonymous confessions at www.ivescrewedup.com. There are a lot of people out there who are struggling with purity.

If you are one of these people, and if purity is a difficult topic for you, then Sunday's teaching is for you. In fact, honestly, it's for all of us. Be sure to come, and bring your friends and family.
