FRC Hallandale Beach

It's awesome to see what God is doing here in Peru with FRC Lima. To have 160 at the special Thanksgiving service last Saturday night was truly awesome!

This weekend Flamingo Road Church is starting up a new campus in Hallandale Beach, Florida. The Campus Pastors there will be our friends Sammy Waller and Bob Dyshuk. Since we at FRC Lima are part of the larger FRC community around the world, we want to make sure to pray for Pastors Sammy and Bob and for the new FRC Hallandale Beach campus, and that it has a major impact on the people in that area. I know that it will!

This Saturday night at FRC Lima we will be making some major announcements about the upcoming special services (Christmas Celebration Part 1, Christmas Celebration Part 2, New Year's Celebration, Pastor Troy's Visit), and we also will be making some major announcements about our upcoming Christmas service projects. If you want to be part of one of our Christmas service projects, then you need to be there! We'll also have special invitations for you to distribute to your friends and family for the two FRC Lima Christmas Celebrations.

We'll see you on Saturday night at 7:00 PM at Hotel Las Palmeras in San Isidro for FRC Lima!

160!

We had 160 people squeezed into the "El Golf" conference room at Hotel Las Palmeras last night for the special Thanksgiving service! Wow!

What an incredible time it was! The music was fantastic (and just wait until all the new instruments arrive!) and the testimonies from so many people in the group about what they were thankful for - I know that part had a great impact on everyone in the room.

I also want to give a special thanks to all those who served on the Welcome Team and the Food Team - you guys did a fantastic job welcoming and serving all 160 people! God will bless you for your service to Him.

December and January are going to be big months for FRC Lima, filled with exciting services and service projects. Very soon we will be announcing the dates and locations of our Christmas service projects, but right now we can give you a sneak preview of some of the exciting services planned for December and January:

December 16 - Special Christmas Service, Part 1
December 23 - Special Christmas Service, Part 2
December 30 - Special New Year's Service
January 6, 2007 - Pastor Troy Gramling - LIVE at FRC Lima!

These 4 services are going to be awesome, so be sure to invite even more of your friends and family members to come. We'll have special invitation cards for you to distribute for each of the 4 services. We're really excited that Pastor Troy and his family will be here in January, when you'll finally get the opportunity to meet the man you've seen on the screen.

Thanks again to everyone who came out to the special Thanksgiving service, and also a huge thanks to everyone who served at it! It was a very special time for all 160 people who were there.

We'll see you this Saturday night at 7:00 PM at Hotel Las Palmeras!

Something To Be Thankful For

Yesterday Dorcas and I were in a taxi being driven by our friend, Alberto, here in Lima. I noticed a big crack in the front windshield, on the passenger's side.

"Hey, Alberto, what happened?" I asked him as I pointed to the crack in the windshield.

"A crazy guy shot at me last week," he replied. "Thankfully, the bullet hit the passenger's side of the windshield, since no one was sitting there. If the bullet had hit on my side ...." He just looked at me and shook his head.

So as we get ready for our special Thanksgiving service on Saturday night, our friend, Alberto, is thankful that he's alive, and that the bullet that was fired at him was wide by about two feet.

What are you thankful for? Come join us on Saturday night at 7:00 PM at Hotel Las Palmeras in San Isidro and let us know, and you'll also get to enjoy some great food, awesome music, and the blessing of hearing many others share what they're thankful for this year.

We'll see you on Saturday night at Hotel Las Palmeras for the special Thanksgiving service!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Today is the day to give thanks to God for all of His blessings to us during the past year. It's really easy for us as imperfect human beings to get caught up in focusing on what we don't have, or on what we wish that we did have, or on what our neighbor has that we don't have, but today is the day to focus on the shower of blessings that God has bestowed upon us this year. Today is the day to remember the words of Psalm 95:2, "Let us come before the Lord with thanksgiving ...."

For Dorcas and me, one of the things we are most thankful for is the start of Flamingo Road Church Lima. It's so exciting to see what God already has done in starting this church in Lima, Peru, and it's doubly exciting to think of what He is going to do with it in the future!

Please make sure to join us this Saturday night, November 25, at 7:00 PM at Hotel Las Palmeras de San Isidro for our special Thanksgiving service. It's going to be a blast, with great music, great food, and an awesome time of hearing some great testimonies from people. We know that you are going to love it!

Once again, Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!
