Today we want to send a shout-out of "Congratulations!" to Kaleb, Jorge, and Gabriel, three young men who were baptized on Sunday afternoon in the swimming pool in Chaclacayo. We are so excited for Kaleb, Jorge, and for Gabriel, and for this great step of obedience that they all took, and we're also excited for all of their family members who got to be there and celebrate with them! Princesses of FRC-Lima!

Today we finished our teaching series called The Princess & The Warrior, and today we celebrated the many princesses that we have at FRC-Lima! It was awesome to see the seemingly endless line of women receiving their bracelets today, and to see how this small token of appreciation and affection made such an impact on so many. Princesses of FRC-Lima, we salute you!

Way To Go, Lima Team!

Today I want to give a shout-out to all the leaders and volunteers who serve so faithfully at FRC-Lima. Yesterday there was a film festival at the cinema complex where we have FRC-Lima, and so we were prohibited from using the lobby or the children's ministry cinema. But our leaders and volunteers were up to the challenge! We put a smaller-scale Information Table right in the passageway leading into the cinema where we have our worship service, and we rented out the 2nd floor of McDonald's for the children's service! Happy Meals and all! The kids had a ball. I especially want to thank everyone in the Pre-School and Children's Ministry and on the First Impressions team for an above-and-beyond effort and execution on Sunday. Great job, everyone!

Two Promises For 9/11

Two promises for 9/11:

Romans 8:35-38 (NIV) - "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? ... No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Revelation 21:4 (NIV) - "(God) will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

The Princess & The Warrior

We're really excited about the new teaching series that we're kicking off this Sunday at Flamingo Road Church in Lima! It's called "The Princess & The Warrior." It focuses on the differences between men and women, and how we can grow spiritually, reach our God potential, and impact this world, all while acknowledging and celebrating our differences as men and women. It's an off-the-chain teaching, so be sure to join us, and invite your family and friends!

Running The Race

We're really excited about this weekend's teaching at FRC-Lima, as we feature FRC's new Student Pastor, Scot Mendenhall, talking about running the race with the students and the youth that you do life with. If you watched the recent Olympic Games in Beijing, and if you think of the words of Paul in 1 Corinthians 9:24, then you know that running the race in such a way as to get the prize can pay off with incredible benefits, such as a gold medal!

This weekend's teaching is going to be off the charts, so be sure to invite all the students and youth that you do life with to join us on Sunday morning at the cinema!

Potential Blog

I recently had a great conversation with a business leader in Lima. I gave him a promotional card and invited him to visit us at Flamingo Road Church. He visited the FRC-Lima webpage at www.flamingoroadchurch.com in order to learn more about FRC-Lima, and then he also surfed around the rest of the FRC website. He discovered the Potential Blog, read a bunch of the posts, and loved it all! He even used material from the Potential Blog in his business meetings! You should read it, too. After you finish up with this blog posting, head on over to www.flamingoroadchurch.com, check our our Lima web page, and then check out the Potential Blog. The link is on the FRC home page. You also can go directly to www.potentialblog.com.
